Moving/Graduation Week!

This past week, Justin graduated college, and we have officially moved from Cleveland to Tuscaloosa!  Here area few pictures to sum up this crazy week!

So far, we have hung curtains, blinds, and moved and unpacked boxes and boxes of things.  I didn't realize we had so much stuff!  We both agree that we will never, ever move again ANY time soon. My sister, Kate, comes to visit tomorrow for a few days right after her last day of high school!  We are so excited to have our first houseguest!

I honestly have not given too much more thought in the way of wedding planning with the move!  Hopefully I can get back on track within the next couple of weeks.  For right now, we are really enjoying the new house and hanging out with friends- a little taste of summer before the real world sets in again :)

Wedding Deets

Two days until graduation and the big move, and I'm spending some down time Pinteresting and registering for wedding giveaways!  I didn't figure I'd have much luck, but today I won a year's subscription to Bride's magazine through the Southern Weddings blog!  It's not a honeymoon, but I am still super excited!

If you follow me on Pinterest, you are already aware that I have been posting ideas on my “Wedding Dreaming” board for quite some time now.  Thank goodness the time has come that I can actually utilize those ideas, because Lord knows I can go a little overboard with the pinning!

Pinterest addict, right here.
Before I ever had any intention of getting engaged, I had been following many wedding blogs, Style Me Pretty, Elizabeth Anne Designs, Ruffled, Green Wedding Shoes, Project Wedding, and basically anything else I can find.   I love all things wedding, and I love finding wedding ideas that fit my style.  My favorite style of all is the whimsical, handmade, rustic look, and it’s a good thing, because I am poor.
A little inspiration!
Okay, I am not at poverty level or anything.  Thankfully, I can pay my rent, bills, and can even afford a cute dress for myself from time to time.  But, Justin and I definitely do NOT have thousands of dollars to spend on a wedding, and frankly, I do not know how people do it, especially as we have other expenses to consider, such as school, bills and rent, and finding a little Quinn puppy, which is necessary for a family, of course.
Corgi Quinn maybe?
I am very fortunate to have a crafty mother, who loves Pinterest just as much as I do!  She is constantly coming up with new ideas that we can make together for our day, anything from colorful bunting and fun centerpieces, to hair accessories and poms for the trees.  I have so many ideas, and never ONCE has my mother said that something was impossible.  She and I have this in common- if we want something done, we will make it happen no matter what!  Her love for both me and Justin knows no bounds, and for that I am very thankful.

The momma.

In the months leading up to the ceremony and subsequent par-tay, I will be working hard to make sure that my wedding is an accurate representation of both Justin and I as a couple and of our sweet families.  I love personal touches in weddings, and our wedding will definitely have many.
The important wedding details we have hashed out are as follows:
·         The wedding will take place in the spring.
·         I am currently looking at venues in Columbus, Mississippi, and I am about 90% positive our wedding will take place there.
·         Our reception will be picnic-inspired, with lawn games, music, picnic food, and fun!
·         Blush tones and pastels all the way!
Oh, and bunting.  Lots of bunting!
Justin’s grandfather will be officiating the ceremony, which we are both very excited about because he is a very special person to us.  I will also be hand-making each of the bridesmaid’s bouquets and the groomsmen’s boutonnieres from fabric, brooches, burlap, and buttons.
Hopefully all of these personal touches and handmade projects won’t drive me crazy!  My love for crafting and years of perusing wedding blogs should make this endeavor a little more easy- or at least I hope so!
Slightly overwhelmed.

We have lots of things to pack and lots of miles to travel during these next few days, and most importantly, a graduation ceremony to attend Saturday!  After that, we are hitting the road on our way to our new home!  Hopefully we will all keep our sanity as we unload his apartment and some storage units.  I will be excited all the way to T-town to meet our friends to help us unload our massive amount of stuff!
It is so bittersweet leaving Delta State- I have made so many great memories here and have loved every second of working at the Alumni Office!  I am excited about a new chapter in my life, but still a little sad to leave!  I am so thankful for everyone I have met here!  I can't wait to make more memories four hours east!

Color!

We spent this weekend traveling to Tuscaloosa to get some things ready for our new home, and most importantly, to paint!  When we arrived Friday, we made a massive Target run to buy a shower curtain and liner, a trash can, and Jutin's favorite, an etage for the bathroom that he and my mom had fun trying to put together.

I made Justin take a picture reading the etage instructions, for memory's sake of course.
One of my favorite things about our new house is that there is so much light!  We barely ever need to turn on lights during the day time. We also decided to paint every room besides two!  And we did it all this weekend!  I must say, I am a master edger, and Justin is a master roller.  Together, we are pretty impressive painters, if I do say so myself.  We added so much color to the house, and I am so excited to get all our things moved in!  Here are some of the rooms-

T- minus four days til Justin's graduation and our move!   My mind is in so many places right now- packing up our things, job searching, and wedding planning!  So excited about life :)
